Activate a Pop-Up Window Blocker
Pop-Up Blockers are software that works in conjunction with your internet browser and is designed to block unwanted pop-ups from occurring while you are browsing the internet. Blockers are often part of anti-virus and firewall Internet security packages
When you have installed your pop-up blocker you may want to adjust the setting to allow pop-up windows in websites that you trust and need to access.
Should you get an unexpected popup use the appropriate keyboard commands to force the pop-up to close. In some instances spyware can actually be launched on your computer when you click on what appear to be "normal" buttons ("Ok, "No", or the red cross).
Prevention is the best cure.
Most browsers have the facility to block pop-ups and you should use it.
