Use updated Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware Software
Anti-Virus software is designed to combat computer viruses including phishing attacks, worms, trojans horses and other malware. Anti-spyware software are programmes that attempt to remove or block spyware.
We strongly recommend that you have up-to-date and current Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware software. Viruses and Spyware are very different types of malicious software and you need protection from both.
Whilst you may get annoyed by prompts from this software, telling you what to do, you need to consider this perceived inconvenience alongside the significant inconvenience should your PC become compromised. The same goes for performance, whilst security software may slow your PC down, that's not as bad as losing all your files.
