Last year we ran a very well supported campaign called the "RaboPlus Saver of the Year". Essentially we had five of our customers competing with each other for the 1st prize of $30,000 cash – all they had to do was grow a $10,000 investment portfolio as much as they could over a six month period (we gave them the cash).
Not only was our Saver of the Year competition popular with the contestants but the wider audience also got a lot of value from it - they were able to monitor and review the strategies and tactics, plus give their own recommendations. It proved to be a very popular means by which people got to learn more about investing and in particular Managed Funds.
We’ve just launched the 2008 version of the campaign – the "RaboPlus Investor of the Year Challenge".
Here's how it works…
Five contestants will be tasked with growing $10,000 of RaboPlus money invested in Managed Funds via RaboPlus. The contestant with the highest balance at the end of six months wins $30,000 in cash and each runner up receives a 42" LCD TV! Lisa Dudson is back as this year's resident celebrity contestant, to show us how the pro's would do it.

Even if you were not chosen as a contestant, you can still get involved – here’s how:
Every second month we will be asking "the audience" for their tactics i.e. what they think the contestants should do and why. As voted by the audience, if your tactic is amongst the top 3 “best tactics” you could win up to $250 from RaboPlus

We found a lot of our customers not only got a buzz from tracking the performance of the contestants, but they really valued getting an insight into people’s investment decisions – how they chose what to do with the money, to attain the maximum return. I really recommend you keep tabs on how the RaboPlus Investor of the Year Challenge plays out in 2008.
