Each year the Ministry of Consumer affairs runs a "Fraud Awareness Week" drawing people’s attention to the numerous ways they could fall victim to others trying to illegally gaining access to their money … basically an attempt to educate people as to how best protect themselves.
As part of the campaign they put up a website containing a number of useful resources and in particular the scam survey – this is used to monitor the scams people are falling victim to and using these findings to better focus the education.
Like most things in life, it does come down to common sense and being disciplined. If it looks to good to be true it probably is so please take care.
