AMP Capital will convert its traditional diversified funds to responsible investment funds. This means the current AMP Capital Conservative, Balanced and Growth Funds will change to Responsible Investment Leaders (RIL) funds.
The main reason behind the change is AMP Capital's belief that a responsible approach to investing results in better quality investment outcomes for investors. Responsible investment allows investors to exercise social or environmental responsibility while also seeking competitive financial returns.
The main change to how the Funds will be managed will be that they will invest in line with responsible investment parameters. This means the Funds will be governed by a Responsible Investment Charter and integrate environmental, social and governance factors into the investment process. Other than moving to a responsible investing approach, the investment strategy and performance objective for each Fund will remain the same. The Funds will continue to employ a robust investment process and rigorous financial analysis, but with a responsible investment overlay. Details on AMP Capital's approach to responsible investing can be found in the current Investment Statement.
